alegrem-se que tenho alinhavada uma versão ao vivo da muito e infelizmente desgastada "song to the siren".
strange fruit é uma música escrita em 1939 e o allmusic guide diz o seguinte:
The standard, written by Café Society regular Lewis Allen and forever tied to Holiday, is an anguished reprisal of the intense racism still persistent in the South. Though Holiday initially expressed doubts about adding such a bald, uncompromising song to her repertoire, she pulled it off thanks largely to her powers of nuance and subtlety. "Strange Fruit" soon became the highlight of her performances.
A minha versão preferida desta música é a da Nina...é insuperável, por tudo.
Vou procurá-la na net, quando houver tempo.
Desconhecia esta versão dos Twins.
Uma curiosidade, algures numa música de Cinematic, a Fontela Bass faz um "tributo" à Nina, vocalizando exactamente como ela vocaliza na Strange Fruit.

fui à procura do strange fuit cantado pela nina nastasia; em princípio no dogs e no road to ruin não estava; mas fui ver o blackened hair (que não tenho), os singles e edição da socialist do dogs (tenho a reedição da touch'n'go). nada.
depois percebi que devias estar a falar da nina simone.
